TradeBeam Announces General Availability of Global Trade Management Release 3.2.4

New bar code label management functionality and feature enhancements dramatically increase productivity, reduce shipping cycle time, and streamline import processes.

San Mateo, CA, September 3, 2008—TradeBeam, Inc., a leading provider of on-demand Global Trade Management (GTM) software and services, today announced the general availability of its Global Trade Management Release 3.2.4. This release delivers new bar code label management functionality designed to strengthen buyer–supplier collaboration across borders, while enhancing compliance and visibility solutions already supported by the company’s leading-edge GTM platform.

According to Logistics Management: Recapture the Economies of Scale Lost to Globalization, a report by AMR Research, “companies are assuming greater responsibility for document generation and meeting compliance requirements through the use of automated tools. The advantage? One central repository for all data related to exports and imports that is accessible to the entire company and their service partners reduces the chance for error, which is important in this era of heightened corporate accountability. Just as important, automation facilitates the flow of goods by ensuring documentation is available as required.”

Globalization offers importers many opportunities for product and labor savings, but inefficiencies can quickly increase costs across supply chains and supporting IT infrastructure. To improve global trade operations and reduce these costs, importers are seeking best practice-based solutions that bring visibility and flexibility into the supply chain. Release 3.2.4 delivers key enhancements that speed trade processes and improve the user experience by providing greater context to relevant information at multiple points in the supply chain.

About Release 3.2.4

TradeBeam 3.2.4 offers new and enhanced functionality in a number of areas, including bar code label management, compliance and the GTM platform itself:

  • Bar code label management – enhances TradeBeam’s Import Management, Order Management and Supply Chain Event Management solutions by enabling suppliers and agents to create UCC-128 bar code labels and unique Serial Shipping Container Codes from existing information. This information is integrated with companies’ ERP systems and can be scanned at point of receipt, reducing errors, increasing productivity and streamlining import processes.
  • Integrated compliance and visibility – enables users to navigate quickly and easily among orders, documents and regulatory information such as restricted party lists.
  • Expanded landed cost configurability – makes it possible to accurately determine landed costs by giving users the option to specify any information necessary during the calculation process.
  • User-determined internationalization – enables GTM professionals to set language of preference at the user and company level, increasing operational flexibility.
  • Data quality management – enhances data validation logic, enabling companies to proactively manage data quality in their supply chains.

“TradeBeam continues to invest in development of on-demand solutions and services that have improved the supply chain for our customers for years,” said Graham Napier, president and CEO of TradeBeam. “The latest release reflects our commitment to provide the ultimate in supply chain visibility and streamlined finances, along with trade compliance for new requirements like 10+2 legislation.”
