TradeBeam’s Global Trade Management Platform Powers eCommerce in China

TradeBeam dramatically increases Chinese customer base supported by Beijing office; additional office in Shanghai will support rapidly growing automotive market

San Mateo, CA, July 30, 2008—TradeBeam Inc., the leading provider of Global Trade Management (GTM) software and services, today announced significant milestones in the company’s growing presence in China. Since the company began working with its partner, China International Electronic Commerce Co., Ltd (CIECC), demand for its SaaS-based global trade platform has spiked significantly. TradeBeam’s GTM solution eases trade compliance, visibility and finance challenges for Chinese businesses and their international partners.

In 2007, TradeBeam signed a ten-year agreement with the CIECC, the IT arm of the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China (MOFCOM). The partnership supports CIECC’s goal of bringing importers and exporters across the country online to make trade practices more effective. GTM solutions facilitate seamless trade integration regardless of the size or geographical location of a customer or supplier.

“In our first year of working with TradeBeam we have seen very strong results,” said Junsheng Liu, the general director, CEO and board chairman of the CIECC. “More than two thousand Chinese global trade clients are using TradeBeam’s GTM Standard solution for small to medium-sized enterprises and we are confident that by the end of the year that number will have grown significantly.”

In addition to the deployments with the CIECC, TradeBeam has opened an office in Shanghai dedicated to expanding the supply chain and event management business in China where the automotive market is expanding. According to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, China's overall vehicle sales including trucks and buses rose 25.1 percent to 7.2 million units last year, passenger cars rose to 3.8 million. The new Shanghai office is opening amid continued success for TradeBeam in both the US and European markets. Additionally, the company continues to see a rise in multinational customers that are making the move into both East and South Asia.

“We continue to be amazed by the pace at which the Chinese market is adopting GTM solutions,” said Graham R.F. Napier, president and CEO. “In collaboration with the CIECC, TradeBeam has established a strong foothold in China. In the coming months, we believe adoption will continue to accelerate and that our customers all over the world will benefit from having a solid trade platform with pervasive reach into China.”
