Telstra and TradeBeam form strategic alliance to deliver Inventory Management Solution to Australian auto industry

San Mateo, CA, October 8, 2004—Telstra eBusiness Services announced today that i-Supply, developed by leading Global Trade Management applications company TradeBeam, is to be made available to the local industry through Telstra eBusiness Services and the Australian Automotive Network Exchange (AANX). Currently, i-Supply is the automotive industry’s most widely used collaborative inventory management application, operating at thousands of automotive suppliers worldwide.

The partnership will provide the Australian automotive industry the ability to drive significant costs out of their operations by reducing inventory levels throughout the networked supply chain. TradeBeam’s i-Supply application delivers bottom line benefits to enterprises of all sizes by facilitating the real-time execution of component replenishment across multiple tiers of the entire supply chain.

Chief Executive of Telstra eBusiness Services David Brawn said the application will assist Australian automotive industry manufacturers to build new efficiencies into their supply operations. “We believe i-Supply is just what the industry has been waiting for,” he said. “It will boost competitiveness and profitability because it makes the key information locked inside existing ERP, Inventory and Warehouse Management systems accessible to the extended supply chain.”

TradeBeam’s i-Supply has already been in use for about a year at Holden’s Service Parts National Distribution Centre in Melbourne. After the success of a pilot program with 15 of Holden’s high volume Tier-1 suppliers, Holden and GM approved the transition into a full production implementation and deployment to Holden’s top 300 suppliers (local and overseas).

“If an enterprise can improve the management of its global inventory flow it can drive dramatic bottom line benefits,” said Duncan Jackson, TradeBeam’s VP Business Development and Marketing. “We are excited about this partnership to allow buyers to work with their suppliers to provide a real-time electronic window into inventory and other related logistics data within the Australian automotive market.”

Mr Brawn said, “We are delighted to make TradeBeam’s i-Supply available to the entire industry. This is a very good example of how we are talking to our customers and then finding the best applications available to meet their needs.”
